Yes there is a purpose behind it all! & it’s not because God/universe (whatever word you prefer to use) doesn’t exist or doesn’t care about us – it’s actually the complete opposite. It’s all for our highest good!
The whole point & purpose of life is for us to learn a lesson(s), grow & ascend.
Without pain, suffering or loss we wouldn’t go deep within and open our hearts, we wouldn’t know what pain feels like & so we wouldn’t have compassion for others nor ourselves. We wouldn’t learn how to forgive, be grateful, be vulnerable & certainly not know how to love unconditionally.
Without pain & suffering, we wouldn’t know what it truly feels like to have lost & feel empty.
Suffering breaks the heart wide open and forces us to look within, because suffering is truly the most powerful motivator for introspection & true self-discovery. It gives us no choice but to dive in and ask questions, listen to our heart, reflect, heal our wounds & traumas.
Without suffering we wouldn’t know how to cope with pain, we wouldn’t learn how to surrender & ask for help from others & the universe. We wouldn’t know what it feels like to be exposed, vulnerable & certainly we would not learn how to nurture ourselves, our soul & our spirit.
We must learn how to receive love, for us to truly be able to give it to others. We also must learn & practice vulnerability for us to experience unity & connection. We must learn how to receive as much as how & when to give.
Without pain & suffering, we would never be humbled!
Suffering has also its own way to show us what our life purpose is. Ultimately everyone’s life purpose is to discover the light & strength within themselves. & suffering brings light to that by making us connect our mind, body & soul. It teaches us that we are spiritual beings having a human experience.
Without suffering we would not be able to heal ourselves & thus unable to neither help nor heal others through our experiences, lessons, wisdom & most importantly love. Healing & transformation can only truly come after we have visited that part of ourselves that is lonely, depressed, alone, empty, vulnerable, and/or broken!
At the end of the day, we are all broken – that’s how the light gets in.
& if you are currently going through a difficult time, remember you will never be put in a situation you can not handle. You are stronger than you are and this is nothing but a reminder 🙂
